It took me 8hrs to reupholster this chair. I wish I had a pic of how it looked before I was done with it. It had a nasty rainbow stripe fabric and it was painted a dirty cream color. The first thing I did was painted a high gloss white, once it was dry I started my little adventure. I have never reupholster a chair in my life and let me tell you it is very tricky but I had a blast. The fabric is from Ikea, very inexpensive. I have about a yard of fabric left and I think I am going to make it a headboard for my guest bedroom. Now, this beauty seats in a corner in our master bedroom and it makes me happy every time I look at it. It might not be a professional job but is good enough and we were able to save around $400 on the reupholstering. Thanks mom for my new favorite chair.
