Wedding Cake Love

Three very different wedding cakes I just love. At this point I haven't decided on the actual look of the reception, nor do I have a theme in mind. I know it will work out in the end. I'm hoping you lovely ladies can help me decide! Which cake do you like best? Planning a wedding is a full time job and I don't have a lot of free time. I'm struggling with the idea of hiring a wedding planner since I'm very hands-on, and quite frankly I'm scared my vision will be compromised. Do you have any recommendations for me? Please, do tell. I really need your help!

i just love those birdies!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :) huge hug & i'm so excited for you!!

hmmm.. I didn't have a wedding planner & really had fun with the process but it is a lot of work. I just made the decisions as quickly as possible in the beginning... Just remember all of the little snags you hit along the way are really no big deal & it's the marriage that matters most.

so happy for you!!!! :)

I love the last cake. Very elegant looking. My advise is to get as much done in the beginning as you can so that you can really sit back and enjoy the rest of the time leading up to the big day. I joined the The Knot and loved it because I got so many ideas and you can talk to other people to get advise. Good luck :)

Congrats, you!

I really love the first cake. Elegant and subtle but quite stunning.

If you don't have a team of close friends and/or family near by to help I would absolutely hire a planner. You will still have plenty to have your hands on. If anything - a planner will help execute YOUR vision and keep you from feeling too overwhelmed.

First off - congrats!!

I really like the 1st and 2nd cake but I wouldn't decide the cake first. The most important thing to me is always the space you're having the event in. Like that first cake would be amazing in a sun filled loft on a bright afternoon reception. But if you are having a evening in a rustic cabin by candlelight, its all wrong.

So pick the setting first and then work everything around that. That way the result is cohesive.

Hiring a planner is a great luxury if you can swing it. There are some amazing ones out there. Otherwise, Im sure you can do a wonderful job all on your own.

I am a new follower of yours and I love all the wonderful pictures and your great taste I would only suggest (make pictures bigger) to actually be able to appreciate the detail and more more pictures of each thing, I would have loved to see more of the candy display, just so beautiful, something tells me you will be very successful at what ever you do...come for a visit..
