My [Latest] Jewelry Display
It's no secret that I have a teeny-tiny obsession with jewelry. Due to my [teeny-tiny] obsession, I continue to run out of places where to display my jewelery, particularly necklaces. I'm not referring to big chunky necklaces that are easy to find in a drawer and don't get tangled. You know, the Jennifer Myers kind, the delicate type. My honeycomb bud vase from West Elm and some dry buds from our garden were the perfect solution to my problem. I love the way it turned out and my favorite part so far is that my pretty necklaces are tangle-free. How do you display your jewelery? Do you recommend other ways to display delicate necklaces?

Spreading Some Anthro Love!
Casablanca Lantern
Vernal Cusp Rug
Dawn Song Rug
Mantadia Rug
Vanuatu Twilight Wallpaper
Sublime Scalloped Mirror
Teakwood Wall Mirror
I love Anthropologie as most of you do. I wish some of their items were more affordable, I don't see that happening anytime soon. I can't stop drooling over the items listed above. Do you guys also think their too expensive? Now, only if they had an outlet. Wouldn't that be heaven?

Dreaming of an English Garden
I've always wanted to have an English garden. The weather in Miami it's not the best suited for an English garden. In the mean time, I will continue to dream of having one some day. I decided to put together a Design Board of what I would like my English garden to look like. What do you guys think? I know the settee might not be the best option for an outdoor seating area, but I fell in love with the whole look. Besides, designing a space involves some thinking outside the box. :)
P.S. Email me if you have any questions in reference to the items listed on the design boards.
The Second Giveaway will be held next Friday, a week from today. I can't wait to share with all of you the big surprise.
Have a wonderful weekend!

My latest Obsession
Lately, I have been obsessing over the blue inlaid chest Anna Spiro from Absolutely Beautiful Things has in her beach house. I started to look online for resources, Wisteria has the best selection so far. However, at a $2,999 price tag, I will continue to dream and continue to hope to win the Power Ball someday. I highly doubt it, since I never play the lottery. I've been thinking, I can try to recreate the look with paint. Lots of free time will be needed, which I don't have but its something to think about. What do you guys think? Should I even give it a try? The mirrors on the other hand are affordable starting at $349, now only If I had the right place for one of them. Believe me, I will find it and you will be the first to know.
Drum Roll, Please! The First Giveaway winners are....

These two lovely ladies are Marianne Strong from Heaven and Home and Cheri from Its So Very Cheri. Thank you everyone for participating and stay tuned for next week's giveaway. I have a feeling you are all going to want it for your home!

I'm in a relaxing state of mind, at least I'm forcing myself to be
Lately, I have been feeling that months feel like weeks, weeks feel like days, and days feel like hours. I feel like my world is spinning faster than one of those crazy roller coasters we all used to ride when we were in Middle School, and now we wouldn't dare to. Yes, you all know which ones I'm referring to. Right now, I'm on the 4th ride and I don't dare to get off because, I have crush on the boy sitting next to me. You all get the picture. I have been choosing work, school, my new business venture, the boyfriend, dogs, friends and family before myself. You know, like when you skip lunch because you have a meeting with a client, and you wouldn't dare postpone it, and risk losing a very important client. They are going to change the future of your business forever. By the end of the day, you are on the brink of fainting due to the lack of food in your system, and although the meeting went well, nothing indispensable came out of it. Or when your best friend has guy problems, and for the last two weeks all she does when she calls (which is constantly) is talk about herself. Not once, does she ask how you're doing. Or when your kids or pets get sick (in my case it's dogs, I do consider them my babies) and you have to drop everything and rush to the doctor or vet with them. You've just lost a whole day's work, which only means that you will be up all night catching up. When do we take a break aside from the regular vacations? Which by the way you planned and will end up being in charge of all of the itineraries. Of course, not everyone is always happy with your plans, but they wouldn't dare plan the trip themselves. When do you say, "enough is enough"? Today is going to be a "ME" day. When was the last time you treated yourself to a relaxing massage and mani/pedi? I'm not referring to the regular mani/pedi we all normally get, while on our blackberries solving everyone else's problems and running our own little empire. I know a lot of you are identifying with this right now. I have decided to treat myself to a special weekend with my significant other. No phones, computers, weekend projects, or work will be allowed. Just us two relaxing, sleeping in, doing things that we love to around the city and eating as many yummy (healthy) meals as possible, including dessert of course. I can't stop thinking about a slice of red velvet cake from one of my favorite restaurants. Guess what? We are going back to have some more of that delicious cake. I recommend for all of you to do the same as me, just make sure to make your family aware of your plans. If your family is anything like mine, you would have the SWAT team kicking down your door because they have not been able to get a hold of you in the last five hours. Come Monday morning, I won't be posting about a weekend project I've accomplished, although I have many on my "to do" list. I will be posting about my fabulous weekend at home and I hope you all will be doing the same.

First Giveaway!
"You Never Achieve Success Unless You Like What You're Doing"
I'm super excited about this post, since it's our first giveaway. I love buying gifts for my friends and family. Haven't I told you that Christmas is my favorite time of the year? Not necessarily Bobby's favorite time, since our bank account plummets due to my addiction to shopping during the holidays. I know, I have a serious problem. I think most of you will identify with me on this one. This is me celebrating Christmas in July. OK, let's get back on track. I gave this giveaway a lot of thought, as I wanted it to be something easy on the eyes as well as functional. Guess what? I found it, the two most adorable glass paperweights from Punch Studio. These paperweights are elegant and will add a touch of flair to any home office. I am officially announcing that twice a month Designing Life will be hosting giveaways. The winners will be chosen by random.org. For a chance to enter twice, write a post on your blog with a link to this post and make sure to let me know, I will then allow you to enter a second time. Good Luck to all of you, the winners will be announced on Monday, July 20Th.

Another Design Board For A Client
A client of mine wanted to freshen up her family room. She wanted to make it a place where her family of five could watch movies, eat dinner, play board games and guitar hero. You get the picture. Since her babies (now teenagers) are all grown up, she wanted this room to match the rest of her home. Here is what I came up with, a sophisticated room that her family can enjoy together. I'm so happy to know that she "Loves it with a capital L", that's me quoting her. Her must-haves were zebra prints and pale blue walls, mission accomplished. I'm sure many of you can relate to my client's dilemma. Do you guys have a room in your home that needs an uplift? Let me know and I will be more than happy to help you bring your room or home back to life.

The Mondrian South Beach, Feeling inspired yet?
The Mondrian South Beach, it's by far the coolest Hotel in Miami. Since it opened during Art Basel in December 2008, it has become the "it" place for all the locals. Let's not forget Asia De Cuba, it's the new favorite restaurant among Miami foodies and it's by far one of my favorite restaurants . Designed by no other than the innovative Marcel Wonders, The Mondrian has a unique vibe and look. My favorite part is the sweeping staircase in the middle of the lobby. How about those views, aren't they incredible? The Mondrian is owned by the Morgans Hotel Group, they own The Delano as well. If you find yourself in Miami, make sure to make a stop at The Mondrian. Having dinner at Asia De Cuba is a must, have some of their famous crab croquetas. Make sure to take plenty of pictures since you will be wanting to show everyone back home where you spent most of your trip. Do you have a favorite hotel in your city you love to hang out at? I'd love to hear about it.
