Help!

Image via Apartment Therapy

You guys probably remember the picture above, this credenza currently seats in our living room. It's been with me for years, I inherited from my aunt. We're moving..... to where, I don't know yet but I figure I painted and get it over with. Its a project, I've been putting off for a while. I've been wanting to go with the black/gold combo you see on one of the pictures above. However, lately I've started thinking that perhaps a high glossy white or grey could work as well. I'm super indecisive about it, since I would like to tackle this project within the next two weeks, I really need make up my mind. Please, help me! Your suggestions are needed.

What colors will it be around in your new home? Have you decided? I'm partial to white or grey, but I guess it would have to depend what you were putting it with. : )

I love a glossy white, so my vote is for white 100% :)

I love that piece too, very pretty!

I love Dorothy Draper just as much as the next girl, but I would go for white or grey. White is a good option to decorate around when you move, but I have a a similar size and shape dresser that is a glossy charcoal grey and it is stunning. The grey adds an unexpected element of sophistication.

I say white if you want to decorate with pops of color because accessories will really stand out against it, and grey if you want to go more sophisticated and cool.

I would go for high gloss white because of the size. Let us know what you end up choosing!

it's difficult not knowing where this will be going (as far as what the new space will look like). If you plan on having white walls, i loooove how the grey looks, but if you plan on having anything but white walls, i think the high glossy white will be fabulous. if you paint it a neutral color you can always add details, change the handles etc to make it look different too! good luck!

That is a beautiful piece, so I don't think you can go wrong. I think you could do the black and gold just like the photo with this credenza, but that may limit where you can put it when you move. The safer choice would probably be a white or a grey (I may be partial to the grey myself). I can't wait to see the after photos!

And I just remembered how nice your master bedroom is, it's too bad that you have to move now that you have it all fixed up! That mural is just beautiful.

I agree with the others, what direction to take depends on the concept you have or may come up with for the next room it will be placed in. Having said that, I really like the white or gray direction. The piece looks like it has great lines...a single color will allow them to be highlighted.
Looking forward to seeing what you do and where it goes!

I loved the paisley story. hee hee

What is going on with the move-are you staying in Miami being relocated for a job---boyfriends sells real estate and you guys do this all the time--fix it up, sell it and move...

Ok so you don't know the color of your walls in the new place. What are you thinking? What other pieces of furniture are in that room and what color are they?

One idea would be to keep it white but change the handles to look more like the KNOCK OFF and then add the squiggly lines inside the molding-like the KNOCK OFF but do the squiggly lines in a bold black.

Cheri- I'll be staying in Miami. We're downsizing from a 2,800 sqft 3/3 home into a smaller three bedroom. We plan to rent for a year while we house hunt and remodel our future dream home. I'm definitely going with light colors like Rich Cream from Benjamin Moore. White or grey will work well. I'll show you guys pics of the finished piece once I'm make up my mind.
