A taste of Miami's Architecture

Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts

Since, the City Escape series is starting this Friday, I wanted to share with all of you one of my favorite buildings in Miami. The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts was designed by the architect Cesar Pelli, the $446 million Carnival Center occupies 570,000 square feet on both sides of the boulevard. Its two main buildings, the Sanford and Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera House and the Knight Concert Hall, are connected by an elegant pedestrian bridge, and the courtyards of these enormous buildings and the stretch of Biscayne Boulevard that runs between them are paved with reddish bricks to form a continuous outdoor plaza. The Art Center has become a staple and a focal point in the new art movement Miami is currently experiencing.
