Hooked on Lucite

(All images are from my personal file, and yes lucite has its own file)

Is not a secret to most of you that I'm completely in love with lucite. Lately, I've been obsessing over a lucite bench for my dining room table that I would like to recover with a zebra fabric (by obsessing I mean, I have been scouting every single antique store, and thrift store in the city as well as craigslist and ebay for the past couple of weeks without any luck). I will find my bench, giving up does not exit on my vocabulary. I also wanted to share with you some of my favorite images incorporating lucite. I've always appreciated a beautiful piece of lucite in a traditional space. I feel is the equivalent of adding a fabulous leather jacket over an evening dress. What do you think of lucite? Do you love it or do you just hated? Or do you think it should have stayed in the sixties and seventies?

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and make time to enjoy your city.

P.S The City Escapes series will be back next Friday, this week has been way too busy for me to be able to put a post together.

xo,

Yansy

I have wanted a lucite coffee table for 20 years. Really!! A friend had one in her living room and I just adored how it added an edge to an otherwise traditional space.

I am curious ... does this 'new' lucite not yellow like the old lucite did? Gosh, do I ever remember when lucite was introducted to the 'world' ...

Have a lovely weekend ... TTFN ~Marydon
